Coming Back Fall 2017

Seattle, Washington

Speakers

New in 2016!

In 2016, we introduced something new to the Fest. We invited to come speak about their passion – agave. We were lucky enough to get three speakers at the top of the agave field, Carlos Camarena of El Tesoro Tequila, Graciela Carreño of Real Minero Mezcal, and David Alan of Patrón Tequila.

Carlos spoke about US Tequila Boom in the late 80’s, which continues today. His family’s brand, El Tesoro de Don Felipe is one of the three brands that defined the boom. Carlos is a Fifth-generation tequilero and third-generation master distiller at La Altena Distillery.

Graciela’s seminar was Born Mezcaleros: The Evolution of Oaxaca’s Mezcal-producing Communities, which focuses on the difference between the more American-driven, business side of Mezcal and those who Mezcal is their culture and way of life. Graciela is the Director General of Mezcal Real Minero.

David Alan spoke about the History of the Tahona, and it’s evolution in the process of making tequila. He is the Manager of Trade Education & Mixology at Patrón Spirits Company.

You can watch seminars in their entirety below! We will be introducing our educational lineup for 2017 soon – stay tuned!

¡Salud!
